Dear Momma,

Happy Birthday! I love you so much and I can’t begin to describe the way that I miss you and the excitement I feel when I think about being back in your arms and getting to sit and chat over our morning coffee. Thank you for being the best mom around. You always say how proud you are of us kids, but the way you and dad raised us is the reason we are the way that we are.

Thank you for always creating a safe place to stumble and fall, for always showing grace and mercy, and for gently picking us up and reminding us of who we are. You never once tried to change me or tell me to be something or someone else and that has given me the confidence to be who I am today.

Thank you for the boldness, authority, and power that you walk in so bravely. Thank you for the influence you have had on my life and on the lives of everyone around you. Thank you for the devotion and the passion you have for Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you for being a trail blazer and a pioneer. You are so valued and loved. I don’t know who I’d be without you. Well, actually I wouldn’t even exist. Heheh. I love you, mom. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Dear Dad,

Happy Fathers Day! I hope today you feel honored, valued, and appreciated today and everyday. I wish I were there to cook you and mom breakfast in bed just like old times.

Thank you for being such an incredible example of what a father is. You reflect our heavenly Father in so many real and tangible ways. You’ve shown us compassion and love over the years in that while we failed, you never once gave up on us but loved us through it. The teaching and discipline you gave showed us that there are consequences for our actions but it’s because you love us that you taught us the right way to do things. You are a rock and a safe place. You are a protector and provider. You are my number one fan. You are gentle and merciful. You are generous and full of servanthood. Thank you for reflecting the Father and making it so easy for me to come into a knowledge of who I am as a daughter of the King.

Thank you for the sacrifices you have made to give this family all that we have. Thank you for the example you set and for your constant support in my life. Thanks for always being goofy and never failing to crack those dad jokes right at the worst (and best) moments. Thanks for always adventuring with me and teaching me that memories are the best treasures you can ever hold.

Prayer request: These two lovely humans are spending today in the hospital with my sister, Carley, who is having some issues with her blood. She is supposed to leave on an airplane to lead a missions trip to Thailand in just 2 days. Please be praying for her healing and that the plans that the enemy has to stop her from going on this trip would fail. Thank you!
