Dear Bud,

Today is the day. Today is the day you leave to follow your dreams. Today is the day you say yes to the risky, scary, thing the Lord asked you to do. Today is the day you step into a new and unknown season. Today is the day you move clear across the country; from little ol Y-town, to big and wild California.

I am so incredibly, crazy proud of you. I have seen the way you have stepped out of your comfort zone and stepped into your calling over the last few years. Each time I look at you I see more of Jesus in your eyes. You are talented, you are gifted, you are anointed and you are ready. You are ready for this next chapter of your life.

Perry, I don’t tell you this enough but you inspire me. The way you hear from the Lord and the way you share that with the world is beautiful and life changing for everyone around you. A few years back, when you were in the process of making a big life decision, you asked the Lord the question “what if I am wrong?” And the Lord responded, “Oh, but what if you are right?” That has always stuck with me and is something I frequently remind myself when I know I need to take a risk. And now God is giving you another opportunity for you to say yes to a risk and ask yourself the question “what if I’m right?” Perry, I know this is right for you. And the ‘what ifs” of this being right where God has you are so fun to think about. I can’t wait to see all he shows you, all you learn and the many adventures that are soon to come.

I know this season is not going to be easy, but you are going to walk away changed. If I could give you some advice from my experience in taking risks and saying yes to something scary, it’s to walk into it wide open. I can tell you that it will most definitely be different than what you expect. There will be twist and turns and unexpected happenings. But if you walk into each day with open hands, open eyes, an open mind and an open heart, God will blow your expectations clear out of the water and surprise you every single time.

Its crazy to think that when I get back home, you wont be there to greet me with a smile and a Starbucks drink. But you better believe the next ticket I book will be one to come and see you.

I can’t tell you enough how much I love you and how proud I am of you. Cali doesn’t know what’s about to hit them. You are an amazing young man, little brother, son of God, and mighty worshipper.

Much love,

Cam

P.S. While your gone, grow a mustache. Don’t ask questions. Just trust me. I’ll tell you when you’re married.
