I’m currently sitting in one of my favorite places to people watch; an airport. Settings like this give me an appreciation for the human race, time, space and moments where they all collide. I watch hundreds of strangers pass by each other, all of them coming or going to different destinations and different adventures. They all have stories and in this moment, all of our stories  intersect. Most likely, they will never be apart of my life again and I will never again enter theirs but right here and now, we share this moment together. Yes, airports give me all the deep thoughts and all the feels.

If there’s anyone sitting at gate D38 right now waiting to board a flight to Atlanta and people watching like I do, they will see me. They will see a girl with overly frizzy hair, typing away on her laptop, wearing a red shirt, and eating a Dunkin’ Donuts bagel. If they look a little closer, they might notice me sitting with anticipation, hands shaking a bit and feet tapping the floor. They might be wondering where I am heading to and why I have this excited grin on my face.

To answer their question I am on my way to Gainesville, Georgia. I am heading to a 10 day training camp for the World Race, an 11 month missions trip I leave for in October. I am nervous but I am beyond excited. This is where I will meet my squad, the people I will be doing life with for a year. It’s these people I have been praying for over the last few months. I have been praying for their hearts, their boldness and their willingness to say yes to the work of the Lord. For the next 10 days we’ll be camping together, roughing it together, learning together, growing together, and preparing for the race together. Needless to say, I am so excited.

Training camp is only the beginning of the journey that is ahead of me. I will get a small taste of what the World Race will hold and I am hoping to come back even more pumped and ready to go than I am right now. I am full of anticipation and expectancy. I am confident God will show up in so many ways during the next week.

While it’s been nice to share this moment with all of these cool strangers, I am ready for the gate to board. I am ready for take off. I am ready for what’s next. World Race training camp, I am ready for you.
